When it comes to football, winning trophies is all very well, but what really matters is who can go into work on a Monday morning with their head held high after a derby game.
It's all about bragging rights. |

Even with the country embarking on what became known as the Great War, football continued to be played.
Fans of Spurs and Chelsea probably wished it had been suspended because the two teams occupied the bottom two positions in Division One come the end of the season, Chelsea finished a point above Spurs and to add to their woes, Spurs were the only team relegated that season.
Head to head, the two teams drew both fixtures 1-1, but as well as finishing above Spurs in the league, Chelsea can claim to be the best team in London for 1914-1915 having reached the FA Cup final - beating Arsenal 1-0 along the way. |
Three points for a win, one for a draw, sweet FA for a lose. Should two or more teams have the same number of points, goal difference decides bragging rights.
Although in the good old days, clubs only received two points for a win in the League, the importance of beating your rivals means that no matter the season, three points for a win applies in the London Bragging Rights League.
